Let your sweat fall on the yoga mat, not your tears on a hospital bed.
I recently came across a Chinese quote that struck a deep chord:
寧可在瑜伽墊上多流汗,少躺在病床上流眼淚
In English:
“Let your sweat fall on the yoga mat, not your tears on a hospital bed.”
It’s a powerful reminder that the choices we make today shape our health and future. Don’t wait for a wake-up call—start caring for yourself now.
I also watched a thought-provoking video:
“5 Things You Must Work On Every Day – A Speech by Dr. Andrew Huberman.”
Although it’s not about yoga, it dives into the neuroscience of habit formation and why consistency—not motivation—is the key to transformation. Here are five key takeaways:
• Don’t wait for motivation — it comes after you take action.
• Practice changes your brain — repetition rewires your neural pathways.
• Daily effort compounds — small, steady steps lead to major progress.
• Discipline builds identity — your actions shape who you become.
• Avoid all-or-nothing thinking — consistency always beats intensity.
These principles echo what I tell my yoga students all the time. You don’t need to be flexible, athletic, or spiritual to start—you just need to show up. Even 10 minutes a day on the mat can bring strength, peace, and resilience—things no medicine can guarantee later.
You don’t need to be perfect—just present
If you’ve been waiting for the “right time,” let this be it.
I hope this message reaches anyone struggling to begin. Whether you’re a student, a busy professional, or simply feeling lost: start small, start now.
Your future self will thank you. 🙏
